Ricci first became known and praised as a kid actress, for her performance as Wednesday Addams as seen on The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (2000) as well as Kat Harvey as seen in Casper (1995). Ricci transitioned to roles for adults as a character in The Ice Storm (1997) which was followed by her highly praised appearance in The Opposite of Sex (2000) in which she received a nomination for the Golden Globe for Best Actress.
